Paul McCartney's Christmas Gift To The Beatles 1965

Because The Beatles songs were credited to Lennon/McCartney, we shall have Macca first for a change. In short, all matters relating to Paul McCartney as a solo artist or with Wings etc., go here in the "Penny Lane Forum".

Paul McCartney's Christmas Gift To The Beatles 1965

The time is Christmas in 1965 and Paul McCartney was thinking what to give the rest of The Beatles.
So, he made a tape playing the part of a DJ and playing songs as DJ's do.
Paul even puts on a Mid-Atlantic accent and does this quite good.
Anyway, he took the tape to a publisher where they turned the tape into a disc or record as we called them in those days.

Only four copies were ever made and over the years all were thought to be lost.
However, there is always someone who pops up with something and that has happened here.
The whole disc is not available as only some of it has survived as far as we know.
Paul McCartney called the disc 'Unforgettable' and gave a copy to John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Here is the disc on YouTube - I love the picture of Paul.

I saw this some time ago and heard it all the way through.
Such a shame that its a little incomplete.
By the way, the mug shot of Paul McCartney is cool.

Brilliant but I did see this from a facebook link a few weeks ago.
I wonder what went through Paul's head at the time.
Amazing bit of history so lets hope the rest of this tape turns up.
Fingers crossed.

A true collectors item if there was ever one to be found.
I can't see one existing though, I really can't.

I doubt whether an original record exists but maybe the full tape is locked away somewhere ;)
